A series of storms with rain and significant gusts of wind, amid a wave of extreme heat, have hit eastern and southern China in recent weeks. This weekend, a tornado was seen ripping a house off its foundation on the outskirts of the town of Beinjing.Although no deaths were reported, 50 houses were destroyed and some 26 people suffered injuries of varying severity. In the video taken by a camera in the place, you can see how the tornado devastates the house built with metal panels, until when it takes more force, it lifts it between four and five meters until it falls to one side.According to what the South China Morning Post reported from its social networks, the storm lasted about 10 minutes and had no fatal consequences.Already in the middle of last July, a tornado tore through 11 villages in a rural area in eastern China, in Jiangsu province, south of Beijing, damaging homes, killing at least one person and injuring 25 others. In total some 2000 inhabitants suffered damage to their homes. It is estimated that the total damage amounted to about 9.6 million dollars, according to local media cited by the Global Times newspaper.Tornadoes are not common in China, so specialists attribute the phenomenon that this country is suffering, sporadically a few years ago, to climate change. The most violent tornado killed 98 people and injured about 800 in 2016.With information from the AP agencyCopyright 2022 SA THE NATION |All rights reservedDownload the application of LA NACION.It is fast and light.Do you want to receive alert notifications?A connection error has occurred
